Crest 3D White Whitestrips Professional Effects

I'm going to talk a little about the Crest 3D White Whitestrips Professional Effects and my experience with them.

  • Professional level whitening results that last up to 12 months.

I really want to try out their gel liners when I get a chance to place another order (husband is telling me I have to wait for now).

Holiday Hauls - New Website Design

I've been updating my website and redesigning it just to redesign it again a week late. I decided I wanted something that was a little more adult, a little more me, and that also conveniently matches the wondering "Winter is Coming!" theme as well. Any thoughts on the new design would be amazing, I mainly want to know if it's eye pleasing, functional, and easy to read.

I spent all day working on creating the social icon buttons, banner, and getting everything tweaked just how I want it. I'm sure I will have more that I will be adding on and changing as well.

Most everyone knows that pretty much everywhere had Black Friday to Cyber Monday sales, here's a little sneak peek of part of what I picked up.

Anyway onto the photos!

I'll have post up soon as well featuring some Milani swatches, Makeupgeek swatches, and other things I'm behind on.

Did you pick up anything up during the holiday sales?

Guest Post - Madam Noire

Hello makeup-lovers and fellow spooks! :)

My name is Madam Noire and I got lost in Makeup Wonderland several years ago when I discovered what a great source of creativity the art of makeup provides.

An important aspect with my blogging is that the makeup I use for my looks is 100% non-animal tested. I love animals even more than makeup and I can’t stand the thought of them being tortured for the sake of our vanity!

Right now I am doing some crazy Christmas looks and this is one of them. As you might have guessed it is inspired by gingerbreads.

Guest Post - Sidrah of Makeup Mew

Simple Neutral eyes with Berry lips

I love the winter season and bringing out my cozy comfy sweaters, scarfs and boots is something I always look forward to. So when it comes to my makeup I love changing it up. Since I constantly use lip balm during this season, I’ve been obsessed with the Revlon Lip Butters. These lipstick/lip balm hybrids are exactly what I need for the windy season since I need to keep my lips hydrated.

For this look I wanted to show you guys a slightly glammed up neutral look. You can never go wrong with neutral eyeshadows! I used my trusty MUA Heaven and Earth Palette. I applied a very shimmery cream shadow all over the lid and then used a dark brown shadow in the crease using a fluffy blending brush. To add a bit of color to the look I applied my favorite bright bluish green kohl eyeliner on the lower lash line from Essence in the shade Cool Breeze.

For the rest of the face I kept it dewy and used a highlight on my cheeks along with a bronzer to add some definition. For that glossy berry lip, I chose a Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie to finish off the look. The lipstick isn’t an intense berry shade since it has more of a pinkish hue to it.

Products Used:

Eyes:
  • MUA Heaven and Earth Pallete
  • Revlon Color Stay Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black
  • Maybelline Great Lash Biggest Volume in Black
  • Essence Eyebrow Designer in 02 Medium
  • Essence Eye Kohl in Cool Breeze (lower lashline)

Face:
  • L’oreal True Match Foundation in Sand Beige
  • MUA Blush in Shade 04
  • Motive’s Sculpt and Shape (Bronzer)
  • MAC Mineralized Skinfinish in Lightscapade (Highlight)

Lips:
  • Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie

I hope you all liked this neutral glammed up makeup. Thank you Amy for letting me guest post on your blog!

Wet n Wild - Where’s the Party? 2012 - Limited edition - First Look

I had completely forgot about this collection coming out, lots of family stuff happening, holidays, and other things were first priority I suppose. Anyway over the weekend I went on a search to find one specific palette from this collection.

Sparkle Til Morning was my target, I had to have it because of all the buzz going on about it. I ended up stopping at 3 Walgreen's in my area to no avail, needless to say I went home defeated. I decided to check out ebay (I rarely buy stuff on there that has to do with makeup, too many chances of fakes), I ended up seeing Sparkle Til Morning selling anywhere from $11 starting bid to a buy it now for $58! Nope I wasn't going to go that high, no chance of that like ever.

Anyway I ended up doing a call around to some stores that were a little farther out of the way, 4 stores later I had a winner. I squealed when I heard the words "Yes I have 2 of those left.", I composed myself again and calmly replied asking if she could hold both for me as I was driving 45 minutes away. She was quite nice and told me she'd be happy to hold them till the next day when I'd have a chance to grab them before work!

Of course being the impatient makeup addict that I am I hopped in my car and drove 45 minutes away to a small... very small town. I got there and walked to the cosmetics area to find that there, on the display sat two Sparkle Til Morning palettes and thought to myself (could there really be 4 total left and she didn't notice it? Or maybe she never bothered to hold them for me).

Anyway I grabbed those two and walked to the front register and asked if I could get help in cosmetics because they were holding something for me. I waited patiently till the lady came over, I advised her I had asked someone to hold something for me. She then pulled out a piece of paper with two eyeshadow palettes under them, these however were those cheap holiday palettes that you find in your present or stocking from a kind Aunt who didn't know the difference between good quality drugstore products and chalk bless her heart.

Needless to say I was disappointed that I had specified the words Wet N Wild and Sparkle Til Morning and instead found chalk on hold for me. I politely said nevermind, those ones are the wrong thing and let her know she could put them back.

I was still excited to get the 2 that I had and I ended up picking up the Shimmer The Night Away as well, I didn't bother picking up Drinking a Glass of Shine as it was the same thing as the I Matte's from a prior release.

Anyway onto the photos!

I will have a review up and swatches later on this week!

Lit Cosmetics - Review - Giveaway!!!

A while back I ended up getting some Lit Cosmetics, I had placed an order but then sent a request to cancel it right away and even though they cancelled it somehow the order got shipped out anyway.

I was surprised to find it on my steps and sent an e-mail right away to them to let them know, I got a quick response from Jodie who is the owner of the company letting me know to just keep it and enjoy. I was impressed by how quick, polite, and professional the response was. Since then I have used the glitters and glitter base in quite a few of my makeup looks.

Anyway onto the photos!

My Final Thoughts for Lit Cosmetics Clearly Liquid Glitter Base:

Availability:  www.litcosmetics.com

Cost:  $22.95 (Net Wt. 30 ml / 1 fl. oz.)

Texture:  Watery feeling but not runny.

Packaging:  Glass bottle with a screw off top.

Thoughts:  I really love this base, it doesn't irritate my eyes, it's very easy to work with. and it holds the glitter on really well. Another thing I love about Lit Cosmetics is the great customer service, the e-mails were promptly answered, and are very professional and polite.

Cons: The only con I could find on this one is the packaging, I love the sturdiness of the jar but I would love if the bottle opening had a cap that had a dropper type stop on it. I find that things get in the jar very easily with the large opening, if it had a dropper cap it would allow for it to be tilted and used a drop at a time in turning making it more sanitary. Don't let this deter you on it though, it's worth getting.

My Rating:  4.5 out of 5 Feathers!

My Final Thoughts for Lit Cosmetics Glitter:

Availability:  www.litcosmetics.com

Cost:  $12.95 (Net Wt. 4 grams / 0.14 o.z.)

Texture:  Varies with glitter size, grainy to chunky.

Packaging:  Square stackable jars (I believe these are  gram jars).

Thoughts:  I love the variety of these glitters, there are so many colors to choose from and on top of the shades you have up to 4 different sizes to pick from as well. I like the packaging because I can leave them separate or connect the jars as stackables. Again I want to point out the great customer service of the brand.

Cons: I personally don't find any cons with the glitters, some people might think the price is on the higher end. My thoughts on this though is for the amount of variety, sizes, and the great customer service it's definitely worth purchasing from Lit. I have placed another order yesterday already and look forward to swatching those when they arrive.

My Ratings:  5 out of 5 Feathers!

Are they Cruelty Free? Yes. The site catalog has the cruelty free logo and the owner has stated that they are cruelty free.

I really want to stress the importance of making sure you buy Cosmetic Grade Glitters!  Do not confuse craft glitters or other kinds of glitter with Cosmetic Grade Glitters. The difference is that non cosmetic grade glitters can scratch the cornea of the eye and do serious damage. So if you are using glitters for makeup purposes ensure you find the cosmetic grade!
