Archetype Cosmetics Haul

Archetype Cosmetics

Note: some people who have ordered in the past have had issues recieving their stuff....so until it is confirmed that they have improved the customer service/shipping buy at your own risk.

Just some pictures of the packaging and swatches....although forgive the swatches....I was in a hurry and I forgot the other colors. :(

Swatched over UDPP, not done with a brush just lightly tapped on with a q-tip. Sorry I forgot some the shades on here....I will swatch some more when I get a chance.

Archetype Cosmetics.....has Customer Service Improved?

Archetype Cosmetics

So I placed an order (for science) even after I heard bad feedback about people not recieving their orders....mainly because I was getting only $7 worth of product and I had to see these awesome shadows myself.

Many bloggers have stated they have some of the most beautiful colors they have ever seen...so again I had to check them out. I placed my order on Feb. 5th 2010 through paypal and expected not to see them for months if at all. So I checked my mailbox Feb 26th 2010 to see if I got my Fyrinnae package yet and was shocked to instead find the Archetype Cosmetics package :O!?! Needless to say I was completed shocked and thought maybe I was just one of the lucky ones.

So I swatched....and stared....and was scratching my head at how I got them so quick while drooling over the sparkles and unique shades they have. I decided to check there site and read over some info I did not see on there before....which stated:

Found at Archetype Cosmetics:

" Important Note about Shipping: shipping has changed to PRIORITY ONLY. We will be click-n-shipping through PayPal for PayPal orders, and click-n-ship through USPS.com for credit card orders. International orders will be processed the same way through click-n-ship. $4.75 flat rate priority w/ delivery confirmation in the US, $11.50 flat rate priority to Canada, $13.50 flat rate to the rest of the world. Click-n-ship automatically emails a tracking number when the label is printed. International flat rate doesn't have a tracking number but USPS will send you a click n ship email.

Currently we are shipped through mid-February, and we hope to keep our shipping quicker with the click-n-ship and some reorganization we have done recently.

Thanks to all our lovely customers for their patience!"

Note: order at your own risk

I can only assume they have possibly gotten things together?....so I placed a second order to see the speed with which they deliver this one (for science again). Hopefully this cake is not a lie.

Sugarpill Cosmetics - Review

Affiliate Links I Bought This

So I had checked my mail before I left for work and I had mail in the box so I didn't think I got anything.....worked my fun 8 hours walked in the door to a package on the table. I skipped over with glee to hug the box.

Initial thoughts... "OMG that kitty icon is so friggin CUTE!" I immediately had to take pictures/swatches.

I then had to go through the box taking pictures of every detail...I must say from packaging I am very impressed with the detail/care that goes into it. Did you notice not only the kitty but the cute star sticker she put on it? :)

She also put in this invoice of my order and personalized it by signing it....again impressed she took the time to do this instead of just getting a computer printed thank you. (Yes my name is Amy too lol)

Under the letter there was a nice hot pink tissue paper to protect the stuff. and then another layer of tissue paper that the stuff was wrapped in. :)

I was excited to see the shimmery Sugarpill logo stickers....they are really, really pretty and very well designed (the whole packaging is well designed and everything works together to make this one very gorgeous collection of makeup).

I don't know about you, but I am definitely addicted to this pretty.

The design is actually imprinted on the palette itself instead of being a sticker over the top. Another well thought out design to make it on par with the high end makeup companies packaging. :)

Warning!! Cute kitty logo on back of palette!!

I was very excited about how smooth and vibrant they are without a base!

Colors swatched over UDPP on top using MAC 239 brush. Bottom over UDPP and Nyx Milk Eyeshadow Pencil using 239 brush. Can you say <3

Initial review for Sugarpill Cosmetics

Packaging/Delivery: the packaging flows beautifully and was well thought out in design and details. The care taken is impressive in itself with this, my packaged arrived quickly and in perfect shape.

Product: The eyeshadows and the fact I can swatch without a base and get that vibrant brilliant pigmentation makes me think that....well *know that* my (allowance on makeup I allow myself each month) will most definitely be going towards the Sugarpill Cosmetics line instead of mostly MAC/Urban Decay like it had been. As for the texture/smoothness of the product....I know see why the yellow one is called Buttercupcake, these shadows practically melt effortlessly on and I don't have to use a ton of it to get pigmentation/vibrancy.

Price: I find the price to be very fair for the amount of product you get, the eyeshadows are huge and for $34 for a 4x palette that is very reasonable and worth the money for this kind of quality/pigmentation!

Final thoughts Shrinkle did an awesome job on this line!!!

I will definitely purchase again from what I have seen so far. (must own Midori shadow, Sweetheart palette next!) More thoughts to come when I can post a tutorial using them.

Random Makeup looks....

I have a bunch of pictures of looks I did....I'll have to post them...here's one I had done for a contest from Xsparkage....I have no idea where my video went for it. I adjusted the shadow/highlight on this because it was kind of dark. I did this one ages ago....around the first 6 months after I got into makeup....took forever it seems to do it lol.

I did this one for another contest....too bad I was too busy to actually submit it. :( I had fun doing the pink/blue....blues are my favorite colors although purples go best with my green eyes. I forgot what products I used besides the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Electric.

This one I think I just did because I was going out....again no idea what I used.....although I did LOVE the way my lips look....I'm more of a bubble gum pink lip girl....or dark reds....black...uh...oh I'm not a pink kind of girl....I'm a whatever the heck I want to be.....I never say I'm goth....I never say I'm preppy....labels are dumb....people should do whatever they feel like with their looks/style....least that's how I see it. I will however say my hair usually is either blue, teal or purple...although for a bit I'm waiting on it to rest before I re-bleach it to dye it again. I also tend to lean more into *dark goth/punk looking clothes/hair/makeup/jewelry*....I swing back and forth through every kind of style...I love japanese anime.....so I can be anything lol.

This one I again did for an "earlier in my makeup days" contest...I didn't win...but then again I did care/expect to. ;p I got the idea for the symbols from a game....who would of thought eh? lol....I played a Witchelf in Warhammer Online and I loved her so much she "stealthed" into my makeup look. I used MAC Golder's Green pigment, a mix of Ben Nye colors and fluidline in Blacktrack....taken at night....(daylight is so much nicer to take photos in).

This one again for something online.....I think I did this one about a little less than a year ago...based on my blending...although if I can remember I was trying for more of a sharp look.....I liked the purple since it makes the green eyes stand out more. :)

This one I forgot what colors I even blended lol....I do know it looked way more vibrant/unique in person....I loved how it turned out and wish I could remember what I did for it. This is the last one for now....I have to dig up my other stuff....and I need to make some new ones when I get my Sugarpill palette and Fyrinnae haul....I also dared to order small samples of Archetype so I can see what the big deal is on those and the possible customer service issues.

Tutorials (old ones for now)

Going to post my tutorials (only have two and they were from months ago) I'll have a few more up once I get my Sugarpill Cosmetics palette as well as my recent (and first) Fyrinnae haul. I'm probably going to order a second haul without even waiting on the first...I had a chance to swatch "hypercool" because my sister in-law bought some a while back and said she thought they were "meh"

I think she might have been wiping the color across her lid so I tried it patting the color onto my hand foiled and I fell over from the beautiful shade of almost dark green/blue....it was gorgeous! I almost wanted to keep it. :( So now I think I might place another order already lol. I will have some tutorials up asap when I get them!

So I ordered one of the palettes from Sugarpill Cosmetics and I'm really wishing I would of ordered two.....I decided to get the Burning Heart palette and I'm really wishing I would of bought the Sweetheart palette also! Especially after seeing some swatches! These things apparently are completely pigmented even without a base!!!! Can you say <3!!

I ordered my palette on the 13th and I wish I would of ordered on the site launch, so jealous of peeps who got theirs already lol. I'm dying to try my yellow, orange and red look with this! As soon as I get the palette I will do a tutorial on here/youtube to show how it looks and let you know how well they blend/stay. :)
